Astana, Kazakhstan — June 3–4, 2025. Mr. Liu Yu, Vice President of CNMC and Chairman of NFC, led a delegation to Astana for a series of high-level meetings aimed at deepening cooperation and expanding business opportunities in Kazakhstan.

During the visit, Chairman Liu Yu met with Mr. Iran Sharkhan, Vice Minister of Industry and Construction; Mr. Albert Rau, Vice Chairman of the Mazhilis (Lower House of Parliament); and Mr. Raimbek Batalov, Chairman of the Presidium of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs. Chairman Liu emphasized that CNMC, as one of the earliest Chinese enterprises to expand overseas, has been actively implementing the Belt and Road Initiative. NFC has operated in Kazakhstan for more than 20 years, achieving mutual benefit with local mining companies and contributing to closer bilateral cooperation in production capacity. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to expanding its high-quality operations in Kazakhstan, fulfilling social responsibilities, and injecting new momentum into the “Golden Thirty Years” of China–Kazakhstan relations.

Chairman Liu also held discussions with senior executives from major mining companies including Kazakhmys, Kaz Minerals, Eurasian Resources Group (ERG), and SM Mining. The talks focused on current joint projects and future cooperation directions, with all parties expressing strong willingness to advance partnerships and achieve win-win results.

In addition, Chairman Liu attended the 15th Astana International Mining Exhibition and Summit Forum as an invited guest, engaging with numerous Kazakhstani companies on project contracting and resource investment opportunities.
