On September 2, Wen Gang, Chairman of China Nonferrous Metal Mining (Group) Co., Ltd. (CNMC), met with Oleg Novachuk, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of KAZ Minerals PLC, and his delegation at CNMC’s headquarters in Beijing. The two sides held in-depth discussions on deepening strategic cooperation and expanding business areas.

Wen Gang welcomed Novachuk and his delegation. He noted that KAZ Minerals is a globally renowned copper producer with strong capabilities in resource development, smelting, and processing. He added that CNMC has in recent years stepped up its international business operations, placing great emphasis on the market of Kazakhstan and maintaining a long-term commitment to its operations in the country. Wen Gang pointed out that the two parties share a solid cooperation foundation and are highly complementary. With CNMC’s extensive experience and professional strengths across the full industrial chain—including resource development, nonferrous metals engineering construction, and smelting and processing—he expressed the hope that this meeting would serve as an opportunity for both sides to fully leverage their respective advantages, carry out all-round practical cooperation in these areas, and deliver more substantial outcomes.
Novachuk thanked CNMC for its warm reception. He stated that CNMC’s industry standing and technical advantages in the nonferrous metals sector are widely recognized, making it a trustworthy partner. He added that KAZ Minerals attaches great importance to the bilateral cooperation and stands ready to further strengthen communication and coordination, expand areas of collaboration, and work together for mutual benefit and win-win results.
The meeting was also attended by relevant members of CNMC’s leadership team, and representatives from both sides.
